Within the framework of the MultiEd project, representatives of Ukrainian partner universities participated in the internship “Multilingualism and Beyond” at the University of Tartu (Estonia) from July 19 to 29, 2022. To work out the national recommendations for the development of multilingual higher education in Ukraine and strategies for introducing multilingualism at universities-beneficiaries of the project was the purpose of the meeting.
The organized lectures the team visited were devoted to the concept of multilingualism, the peculiarities of its functioning in European universities. Professor Iryna Zadorozhna (TNPU) in close cooperation with Kristina Kallas, an expert in the field of education and integration in Estonia, and colleagues from Ukrainian universities developed and shared the issues of the project of the national recommendations for the development of multilingual higher education in Ukraine.
Ukrainian partner universities are recommended to familiarize with the strategies for the implementation of multilingual education developed on the basis of surveys of students, teachers and representatives of the administration of a particular university in 2020 and 2021, amend and approve them by the Academic Council Board for further implementation into the educational process.
