Education where Content and Language Matter

A number of lectures and webinars went on almost a month – started in May 18 and were over in June 25. The main issue was the implementation of the Content and Language Integrated Learning approach into the educational process within the objectives of the MultiEd project.

CLIL training was held via Web platform Moodle at the University of Tartu and presupposed the introducing of flipped classroom technology for 89 consortium participants. The course comprised five modules: Introduction to CLIL (18-24 May), Practical Applications of CLIL (25-31 May), Teacher Collaboration in CLIL (1-7 June), Material Design in CLIL (8-14 June), Assessment in CLIL (15-21 June). Each member of MultiEd team had an access to the online modules to watch the presentations, video, read the recommended literature that facilitated further group discussions in interactive workshops. The moderators of the lectures and webinars were Dr.Sue Garton and Dr. Elizabeth Wielander (Aston University, Birmingham,UK), PhD Urve Aja (University of Tartu, Narva College, Estonia), Prof. Dr. Jutta Rymaczyk and Dr.Stefanie Witigmann (Heidelberg University of Education, Germany).

The home assignment to be uploaded to the Moodle platform was to compile a worksheet with an academic text and tasks using CLIL approach. Online tests focused on CLIL approach were held in June 26.
